Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister in Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition she was ranked among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. Felix was also the youngest participant in the 200-meter race in the world championships held in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, defeating long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently within the top three athletes in each of her events.
